You can reach these controls from the Browser by clicking the blossom logo in the top-right, choosing Settings, then opening General.

Make Atlas your default browser

  • If Atlas isn't set as your default, you'll see a banner with Set Default. Click it to register Atlas as the system default browser.

Appearance

Tab Style

  • Classic Tabs keeps one tab strip without horizontal scrolling; tabs compress to stay on a single row.
  • Scrolling Tabs gives you a horizontally scrollable tab strip when you open many tabs.

Theme

  • Choose Light, Dark, or System (matches your device setting).

Accent color

  • Pick an accent color to personalize Atlas. This color also applies to ChatGPT UI elements on the web, and your choice is stored with your account so it can carry across devices signed into the same account.

Language

  • Opens your device's System language settings so Atlas follows your OS language. You can also set your language preference in Web Browsing settings.

Show full URL in address bar

  • Toggle on to see the entire URL (including protocol and path) in the address bar.

Show bookmarks bar

  • Toggle on to keep your bookmarks bar visible below the address bar.

Updates

Check for updates…

  • Runs a manual update check.

Keep ChatGPT Atlas up to date

  • Automatically installs updates when available (recommended).

ChatGPT account

Multi-factor authentication

  • Protects your ChatGPT account with a second step at sign-in; once enabled, MFA applies whenever you log in on any device. You can manage trusted devices from ChatGPT's Security settings.

Manage all account settings

  • Opens ChatGPT on the web to manage your account (billing, security, preferences, and more).
